Player Housing is officially arriving in World of Warcraft on December 2. This long-awaited feature will be available for fans who have pre-purchased World of Warcraft: Midnight before the end of this year.
The Midnight expansion for World of Warcraft is bringing a huge amount of content to the titanic MMO, including the Haranir Allied Race, Devourer Demon Hunter specialization, and a revamped version of Quel’Thalas and Zul’Aman. However, one of the most highly anticipated aspects of this release is Player Housing, a new evergreen feature that lets fans build their very own bases of operation with an absurd amount of customization.
World of Warcraft Player Housing Early Access Release Date

Now, World of Warcraft players know exactly when they can get their hands on Housing. During the rollout of the World of Warcraft: Midnight alpha, Blizzard dropped a bunch of new information about the expansion, including details about Housing. Most notably, World of Warcraft locked down December 2 as the official launch date for Housing early access ahead of its full launch in the Midnight expansion.
It is important to mention that this rollout will coincide with WoW’s weekly reset, rather than a global release. This means World of Warcraft Player Housing will end up being available later in regions like the EU, which have their resets take place the day after realms in North America.
Of note, December 2 is exactly eight weeks after World of Warcraft Patch 11.2.5 on October 7, which happens to match Blizzard’s historical release cadence. Housing early access was previously confirmed to be arriving as a part of the 11.2.7 update, so December 2 is almost certainly going to be the release date for this patch as well. As the final major update before Midnight, fans can expect 11.2.7 to include a narrative bridge between it and The War Within, UI updates, a Heritage Armor questline for the Pandaren, and more beyond Player Housing early access.
In order to access Player Housing, fans will have to pre-purchase World of Warcraft: Midnight. The normal, Heroic, and Epic Editions all include early access to Housing, and fans will likewise need to own the expansion once it releases in order to access the feature. That said, players will still be able to collect Housing decor for their houses for when they do get Midnight. Regardless, if one is hoping to access Player Housing at any point, they will need to pick up the expansion at some point.
